Which echosounder is right for me?
Choosing the right echosounder for your company is a difficult decision. Although all of our systems are renowned for their dependability, advanced features and stellar performance, each echosounder was designed with specific applications in mind. We can help you find which one will meet your specific needs. Below are some of the differentiating characteristics between our echosounders and their common applications. Please don't hesitate to contact our sales department with any questions, and we can help guide you to the perfect system.
Primary Applications?
Some of our echosounders are designed as dependable, general-purpose surveyors, such as our signature model, the 320M, or the blackbox PC-controlled version, the 320B. Both the 320M series or 320B series echosounders offer the most powerful systems on the market and can be adapted to numerous purposes, including dredging, scientific research and survey.
Our robust and powerful, 320BR and 320BR Plus, are the ultimate systems for deep-ocean research and can feature up to four independent channels. Other echosounders, such as the 320N are designed primarily for shipboard navigation. In fact, the 320N is fast becoming the system of choice for the US Navy and Coast Guard.

Self-contained units or PC-controlled?

The primary difference between our 320M series and 320B series echosounders is the interface with which they are controlled. The 320M series are designed to act as completely independent units, and can be operated without a computer. The 320M and the 320MP both feature a high-resolution, 32 shade grayscale printer.
The 320B series on the other hand, are designed to interface directly with your desktop or notebook computer. You control the echosounder through our user-friendly and powerful software solutions, SounderSuite which includes EchoControl and PostSurvey. The data is stored on your computer and can be recalled at anytime or printed out later. All 320B series echosounders include the latest versions of our SounderSuite software package.
Open-boat or rugged conditions?

Will you be using your echosounder in rough, open boat conditions? Then consider purchasing one of our ruggedized splashproof models. We have systems available in both the M series and the B series that have been designed to perform in punishing conditions. The M series includes the 320MP, which is housed within a rugged, splashproof exterior. Like it's non-ruggedized sibling, the 320M, the MP features a high-resolution grayscale printer and may be operated as a complete stand-alone system, or with the optional SCSI upgrade, may be controlled by your notebook computer.

Prefer a lighter, even more portable echosounder? The 320BP is your splashproof solution. Like the rest of the B series, the BP is controlled through the SounderSuite software running on your computer. Both the 320MP and the 320BP have been tested and proven in some of the most demanding, rugged conditions possible. If you are planning to be working in this type of environment, consider either of these systems.

Budget conscious?
On a budget but still require outstanding performance? Consider our low-cost single frequency echosounder, the 320M Jr. Like it's big brother siblings, the 320M Jr is designed to act as a stand-alone unit. It features a high-resolution, 32 shade grayscale printer and is also housed in a ruggedized, splashproof exterior, but is small and light enough to qualify as carry-on luggage when you fly.
Portability?

Do you need something lightweight and portable? Then consider the 320B series. The 320B and the 320BP are both light and easy to carry. The 320BP is housed in a tough-splashproof container with a handle. You may also purchase an optional hard-body carrying case for the 320B. Both models are small enough to qualify as carry-on luggage when you fly.
Require something even more portable? The 320M Jr comes in a handy carrying case that even features wheels!
