320M Marine Echosounder
Features
Features of the 320M Survey Echosounder include:
- High Resolution, 32 Grayscale Printer.
- Dual Frequency (3.5 KHz - 210 KHz) - Simultaneous Operation.
- Connectability.
Standard Features of all Knudsen 320 Series Echosounders include:
- Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
- Field Programmable Software Upgrade.
- Easy Transducer Interface.
High Resolution, 32 Grayscale Printer.
Using the built-in thermal printer, the 320M produces a high resolution record
accurately showing sediment layers and bottom profiling. Data from the high or low
frequency channel, or both simultaneously can be printed on plastic film using the
32 step Grayscale printer with 1600 pixels per line.
Dual Frequency (3.5 KHz - 210 KHz) - Simultaneous Operation.
The KEL 320M has an optional dual frequency configuration with built in digitizers
on both channels. It's three built in RS232 serial ports provide a standard interface
to all modern survey tools including GPS receivers, heave sensors and dataloggers. It also
provides hands-off operation with automatic phase & gain control.
Connectability.
Three RS232 serial ports support communication with personal computers (and laptops),
GPS receivers, NMEA input and output devices, sound velocity sensors, heave sensors,
remote depth displays and survey data loggers.
Standard Features
Digital Signal Processing (DSP).
The 320 echosounders do all signal processing digitally. There are many advantages to an
all-digital system, including the inherently higher performance and greater stability of
digital filters. The processing is performed in software which can be programmed to accommodate
any frequency, bandwidth, or pulse length, eliminating the need for multiple analogue hardware
filters.
Field Programmable Software Upgrades.
KEL 320 Series Echosounders are unique in their use of in-circuit programmable flash program
memory for storage of all firmware including signal processing algorithms and communications
drivers. Echosounder firmware can be field upgraded with the latest revision provided via the
internet or on a disk from KEL. This firmware can be downloaded into the echosounder using the
survey computer. Users can thus benefit from the improvements and additions to the software
which are continually being developed.
Easy Transducer Interface.
The Knudsen 320 Series Echosounders can be easily interfaced to most existing transducers,
saving the expense of new transducers and dry dock installation.
