Rugged, Splashproof / Shockproof Case.
The 320BP system is housed in a portable, rugged, splashproof / shockproof ABS/polycarbonate case.
Ideally suited to small open boat applications, it is also excellent for general purpose use.
The reliability of the 320BP is enhanced with shock mounted circuit boards.
Dual Frequency (3.5 KHz - 210 KHz) - Simultaneous Operation.
The KEL 320BP has an optional dual frequency configuration with built in digitizers
on both channels. It's three built in RS232 serial ports provide a standard interface
to all modern survey tools including GPS receivers, heave sensors and dataloggers. It also
provides hands-off operation with automatic phase & gain control.
Windows Software Interface
Echosounder Control and Data Display software for Windows® provided with the Knudsen 320BP
Echosounder is used for real-time control of all operating parameters. Using the built in SCSI
port or one of the RS232 serial ports, the software provides full-function user interface plus
real-time display of the grayscale data. This user interface also includes a flexible data
logging facility which produces both ASCII files and/or binary image files.
Standard Features
Digital Signal Processing (DSP)
The 320 echosounders do all signal processing digitally. There are many advantages to an
all-digital system, including the inherently higher performance and greater stability of
digital filters. The processing is performed in software which can be programmed to accommodate
any frequency, bandwidth, or pulse length, eliminating the need for multiple analogue hardware
filters.
Field Programmable Software Upgrades
KEL 320 Series Echosounders are unique in their use of in-circuit programmable flash program
memory for storage of all firmware including signal processing algorithms and communications
drivers. Echosounder firmware can be field upgraded with the latest revision provided via the
internet or on a disk from KEL. This firmware can be downloaded into the echosounder using the
survey computer. Users can thus benefit from the improvements and additions to the software
which are continually being developed.
Easy Transducer Interface
The Knudsen 320 Series Echosounders can be easily interfaced to most existing transducers,
saving the expense of new transducers and dry dock installation.
